Ivaylo Radkov - Fazata and Ivaylo Krastev are working hard on Hip Hop - a project in the cave of Karlukovo, weighting around the 8c+ grade. The route starts with a short and powerfull section of 6 moves graded 8a+, which are followed by an 8c with a bad rest between them.
Krastev put some effords on a route at Malkata dupka in Vraca, linking up the cruxes of four routes - Mobi Dik (8b), Milady (8b), Paranoia (8b) and Formalin (8a+). According to him the hard moves are between the cruxes rather than the cruxes themselves and the route is an 8c+ as a minimum.

On 23.01.2008 The Fourth Annual Indoor Boulder Meeting took place in Sofia University. There were more than 70 participants from Bulgaria, Rumania, Greece and Serbia.
The winners are:
1. Bojko Lalov, 2. Blagovest Lazarov, 3. Ivaylo Radkov - Fazata,
1. Spasina Nedialkova, 2. Ina Djambazova, 3. Rayna Grigorova, Marija File
The prize fund was provided by Namaste, Ekipirovka, Stenata, Red Rock, and Rasta Climb. The money gathered from the entry fees is going to be used for developing a new sport climbing crag.

On 17.03.2007, Saturday, Ivajlo Krastev, managed to send his long time project El Nino, grading it 8c+/9a. This makes it the hardest route in Bulgaria and the hardest route ever to be climbed by a Bulgarian. El Nino is in a small undeveloped crag near by the village of Drianovo and the Drianovski Monastery. The crag has huge potential, but unfortunately for the most of us - only for hard stuff. Photos of Ivajlo on El Nino you can see in the beginning of next month.

The second leg of the Boulderig World Cup 2006 took place this weekend in Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria).
Kilian Fischhuber (AUT) and Olga Bibik (RUS) won the spectacular competition followed by Matthias Muller (SUI) and Jerome Meyer (FRA) for the men and Olga Shalagina (UKR) and Anna Stohr (AUT) for the women.

There is a new movie in the video gallery - made by Valio Stamatov. It is about deep water soloing and the climbing above the water from the point of view of Lovech's boulder maniacs.
Also there are a few photos of the latest hard route at Lakatnik - Thriller 8b+. For now it's done only by Stefan Vepshek (who bolted it), but the photos are of Ivailo Radkov and Misho Varnata working on it. Anyway there is going to be a movie about the route with Stefan.

There are some changes in the Picture gallery:
1. An online photo gallery (in 42 languages) is now available where you can upload your pictures of climbing, nature, lifestyle or any other extreme sport.
2. There are two new main galleries - "Photos from Bulagaria" and "Photos from around the world" with subgalleries about sport climbing, bouldering, alpine climbing, nature and lifestyle. These will be the representative galleries with the best photos that you have uploaded.
You are all invited to upload whatever climbing or extreme photos you have and help creating representative galleries with nice shots from around the world!

The nice sunny days gave strength to the pretty girls for some hard climbing. Some manage to send their routs, others fail, but the point is that there is a lot of beauty on the crags these days. On the other hand this gave us the inspiration to take some nice photos, which you can see now. The beauties are: Poli (on Veselia Gringo-6c), Yana (on Tanca na Prilepa-7a) and Tuti (the not so beautiful guy - on Nezen Kravopiec-7c, which was his personal best). You can find the photos here:

Todor Zabov has an expensive new digital camera and decided to test it in Meteora, Greece together with Lorda and Shvanc. I don't know about the climbing, but there are a lot of nice pictures. The best ones you can see in the following galleries:

Ida Gandeva, Yavor Panov, Ivajlo Anastasov and Ivajlo Radkov are back from Gorges Du Tarn, France with many sent routs and nice pictures. The bottom line of this trip is: Ida - about 35 sent routs with a 7a OS, a 7a F and three 7b OS; Yavor - about 55 sent routs with two 7c OS, six 7c RP, a 7c+ F, a 7c+ RP and four 7b+ OS; I. Anastasov - about 40 sent routs with a 7ñ+ RP, two 7ñ RP, three 7b+ RP and a 7b OS; I. Radkov - about 30 sent routs with two 8à+ RP, three 8à RP and two 7ñ OS.

After a month off now you can see the first photos from this year DWS meeting in Kamen Briag. For now there are only pictures made by Iva Tsankova and me, but I am expecting Ida Gandeva to came back from France and to upload her photos from the meeting and form Gorges Du Tarn where she is right now with Yavor Panov, Ivajlo Anastasov and Ivajlo Radkov.
